book club

With the view to provide a platform for exchange of ideas as- Book Readers and make our library more user oriented  a YASHADA Book Club was formed IN 2004. The faculty members, officers, retired officers; course participants and library users attended the meeting and contribute to the activities of the Book Club.

•  FOSTER A CULTURE OF READING WHICH SERVES AS FOUNDATION FOR TRAINING AND RESEARCH

EXHIBITION OF GOVERNMENT PUBLICATION

Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration, (YASHADA) Pune has been organizing  an Exhibition and Sale of Government Publications  in YASHADA Campus. In exhibition unique publications of various Government Departments were made available first time under one roof.

YEAR 2012

The Exhibition of Government Publications was organized in Lezim Hall during 6^th to 8^th January, 2012 by YASHADA library. This was the second successive year of such exhibition. The objective were to make Government Publications available under one roof for the citizens. Lectures of eminent personalities like Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar scientist of world repute, Shri Uttam Kamble, President, Akhil Bahrtiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan  and Shri Rahul Solapurkar, Marathi Actor, on different aspects of reading culture were highlights of these three days. Dr. Mashelkar along with the Director General visited the stalls of participating departments and interacted with the representatives present for the exhibition. In all 32 departments participated  in the exhibition among which 9 have participated only for publicity and not for sale of their publications. Around 2600 persons visited the exhibition along with the dignitaries like Ms Meeran Borwankar IPS, Commissioner of Police, Pune. The event was organized by YASHADA library.   

YEAR 2011

Exhibition of Government Publications’ organized at Samwad Building  during  from January 07 to 09, 2011.

More than three thousand citizens from various fields visited the exhibition. The Visitors list included dignitaries like ex Pro. Vice chanceller Shri. Sonawane, Dy. Police Commissioner Shri. D.M.Phadtare, Addl. Collector Shri.R.K.Gaikwad, Retd. IAS Officer Shri. M.G. Salvi, Smt. Abeda Inamdar, Prof. Pradip Apte & many others. Nearly 40 Government departments & research institutions had participated and were very happy for the wonderful response they received from readers. Our own YASHADA  publications recorded a sale of more than Rs. 41,000/-. Nearly 2200 visitors have recorded their feedback and we are analysing it for the benefit of our future ventures.
